BRICS Road Rally

Over 100 People to Take Part in the First Road Rally Along the M-12 “Vostok” Highway from Yekaterinburg to Moscow

The event will be held from August 9 to 15 on the highways operated by the State Company Avtodor. This was announced at a TASS press conference (link) by Maria Yarmalchuk, Director General of the National Association of Infrastructure Companies (NAIC).
“Twenty countries will take part in the rally, and it will include not only representatives of BRICS member states and partners, but also our rally partners. As a result, more than 100 people will be part of the convoy, which will allow us not only to explore the opportunities of the regions along our stops, but also to hold negotiations with international partners throughout the rally,” she said at the press conference dedicated to the event.
Yarmalchuk also noted that the rally will be divided into two segments — a youth track from Yekaterinburg to Kazan, and a BRICS+ business community rally from Kazan to Moscow. The “youth” segment will feature 30 foreign students from Russian universities, including students from Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU) and Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University (MADI).
“The first segment will start in Yekaterinburg on August 10 — this is the youth track, and we will travel from Yekaterinburg to Kazan. (…) This will be the point where the young participants hand over the symbolic relay baton to the ‘adult’ part of the rally,” she said.
